Brendan Steer

Brendan is the Senior Partner of the firm and has been running the practice since 1990. Brendan qualified as a Solicitor in January 1982 and specialises in Agricultural, Residential and Commercial Conveyancing as well as representing a number of Business Clients and Farmers.

Barbara Cromey

Barbara is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives specialising in residential conveyancing. She has worked in the legal profession since she left college and has been with Holley & Steer since 1990. During that time she has been lucky enough to work with some very experienced and accomplished lawyers who have contributed to her legal training and professional development. Being Somerset born and bred, she very much enjoys working in Burnham-on-Sea and has established a good working relationship with other property professionals in the area. Her experience extends to dealing with all types of sale and purchase transactions and remortgages whether for established clients, first time buyers or investors. She also has experience in dealing with Auction sales and purchases; plot sales and purchases; equity release loans; Declarations of Trust between unmarried couples and unregistered land issues.

Sarah Smith

Sarah is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives specialising in Residential Conveyancing. Sarah has been with Holley and Steer for almost 25 years and, following an initial period as Office Junior, worked as Personal Assistant to the Principal of the Firm (Brendan Steer) for 20 years until taking time off following the birth of her son in 2013. Following her return to work in 2014, Sarah, having completed and passed her level 6 studies in Land Law and Conveyancing, has been practising as a Conveyancer. Away from the office Sarah enjoys running and swimming and spending time with her family.

Kimberly Skuse

Kimberly is a Family Law and Residential Conveyancing solicitor with over 9 years of experience. Expert in dealing with sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity and other associated conveyancing tasks, she is also at home as an advocate representing clients in the Family Courts. Kimberly completed a degree in Law and Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice, both at Bristol UWE, before qualifying in 2009. She came to Holley & Steer Solicitors in 2014. Kimberly is an avid fan of Formula 1 and Rugby. In her spare time Kimberly enjoys camping, long walks and spending time with family and friends.

Angela Taylor

Angela completed a BA Hons in Business and Law in 1996 and spent the first 15 years working in Business and Finance. She worked in London for Thomson Reuters as a Money analyst and later as a Senior Business Analyst until 2011. In 2011 Angela took a career break, left the city and came to live in Somerset where she spent time with her children, running youth groups. She joined Holley and Steer as a conveyancer in 2017 after helping out at a local law firm in Glastonbury. In her spare time Angela enjoys gardening and socialising with friends.

Charles Fleming

Charles undertook his training in the Cotswolds. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1986 before moving to Somerset in 1993 to join a Yeovil based Firm with whom he continued to develop his knowledge and expertise in all areas of Commercial, Agricultural and Residential Property work. Charles has been with Holley & Steer since 2008 consolidating his knowledge and where possible sharing it amongst the close knit professional property team. In addition, Charles has a sound knowledge in respect of Private client matters, including Wills, Powers of Attorney and Probate. Away from the office, Charles enjoys spending time with his family, playing racketball, golf and skiing but his main passion is the welsh slate industry and industrial archeology.

James Gass

James is a Solicitor who specialises in Residential Conveyancing and Private Client matters and became a Partner in 2017. He graduated from Brunel University in 2007 with a Batchelor of Arts in History before converting to Law and completing the Common Professional Exam at the University of the West of England in 2008. Two years later he completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the same institution. James has been with Holley & Steer for nearly ten years working his way up from Office Junior, to Trainee Solicitor before eventually qualifying as a Solicitor in December 2011. Away from the office James is an avid football and cricket fan and is clinging to the hope that Somerset may one day win the County Championship. James has also just become a Father for the first time and is immersing himself in all the joys that parenthood brings!

Brittany Whitfield

Brittany is a Solicitor specialising in Residential Conveyancing. She graduated from Plymouth University in 2011 with a 2:1 LLB Law Degree and following on from that, completed her Diploma in Legal Practice whilst working full time for Holley & Steer. Brittany has been with Holley & Steer since 2011 and has undertaken numerous roles during that time, such as secretarial support, paralegal, trainee solicitor, and, since qualifying in 2016, is now practicing law as a Solicitor. Outside of working hours, Brittany enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the gym and playing the piano to a grade 7 standard.

Lisa Springfield

Lisa joined the firm in 2017 as a para-legal in private client matters. Lisa has a number of years experience in this area.
